Description

According to Daniel Keim: "Visual analytics combines automated analysis techniques with interactive visualisations for an effective understanding, reasoning and decision making on the basis of very large and complex datasets”.

The effectiveness of Visual analytics essentially depends on the seamless interplay between automated analysis and interactive visualisation. In particular, the later shall enable users to visually explore the outputs of automated analytics with a view to maximizing insight and assess quality, and on the other hand provide support to user-driven analytics within interactive visualisation contexts.

This talk will address important aspects of data representation and processing to be addressed for a successful combination of (hypergraph) graph-based interactive visualisation with data analysis techniques.
